We Support the Local Community
During our November 7th celebration of Cans Across America, we collected 142lbs
of food where we encouraged students to get involved in supporting our local community. It was then donated to the Lunchbox in Poughkeepsie
Every Monday thru Thursday we donate dinner to 30 people of the Hillcrest House, a facility for formerly homeless adults in transition.
Marist Dining cooked & served Thanksgiving Lunch for the Lunchbox(shelter) in Poughkeepsie on November 20th for 200 people which has become an annual tradition.
We served a holiday meal in December for the Grey Smith House (Battered Womens Shelter) for 30 women & children.
On Christmas morning in conjunction with Holiday Helping Hands of Dutchess County which is run & founded by Dan Hickey, food was produced that morning which feeds
8-9 local shelters in the county. Helping Hands is celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year to come in to use our kitchen facilities as a commissary.
